Our client is one of the UK’s leading insurance companies with over 300 branches throughout the UK. The company is currently enjoying a period of significant growth and they are looking to recruit an Assistant Agent to meet the level of demand they are experiencing.
The Role - Business Development
As an Insurance Sales Agent you will be based in Edinburgh, with your aim being to effectively sell a range of insurance packages to new and existing customers, you will also introduce customers to their Financial and Risk Management Services. As this is a well established organisation customer loyalty is extremely high and you will inherit a substantial portfolio of customers and clients. There is lots of scope for career progression within the company including management opportunities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide advise and sell a range of products and services and introduce the Risk Management arm of the business
- Incorporate and develop business strategies
- Manage and guide a small team
- Register with external regulatory bodies
- Build relationships with members of target organisations
You will receive full training upon commencement of the post which will cover:
- Sales Training
- Management Training
- Product Training
To be considered for this position we are looking for the following criteria to be met:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in any discipline
- Full and valid drivers license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good presentation skills
- Adept to working in a high activity environment
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Ambitious, driven and self motivated

- Demonstrate leadership / management qualities
