Job summary

Peacock Technology has a great opportunity for an Engineering graduate to work on different industrial Automation projects. Training will be provided. This is a 12 month placement based in Stirling with a high possibility of converting to a permanent role.

Job Description

Project objectives

The company is involved in a range of Industrial Automation projects including a Robot Milking Machine, robots for Abattoir Automation and automatic Assembly of Medical Devices. The latest technologies - such as 3D Vision - are applied to deliver projects that would previously have been considered too difficult.

The graduate will be involved in working in all aspects of Automation, including PLCs, Robot programming, Pneumatics and Electronics. Training in these areas will be provided.

Duties will include:

•        Helping to specify requirements for new machines

•        Designing, building and assembling new machines

•        Writing robot and PLC control software

•        Travelling to clients' sites inside and outside UK to install and fix machines

Skills / Experience

Essential

•        The successful candidate will be a practical engineer with an ability to break down problems in a logical manner. They should be as comfortable sitting in front of a laptop as sitting under a machine with a spanner.

•        An ability to write computer programs for controlling machinery.

•        The successful candidate will be able to work autonomously and will perform well under pressure.

•        Ability to travel within and outside the UK is required as the role will involve visiting client sites.

•        The successful candidate will be very personable and able to work directly with clients.

Desirable

•        Programming skills in a language such as C and/or C++ would be an advantage.

Qualifications

A good honours degree in an Engineering related discipline, such as Electronics, Software or Mechanical Engineering is required.

Any further professional engineering qualifications would be an advantage.
