Overall purpose of the role:
To drive online sales, margin and market share performance of the Category through effective pricing, ranging and promotional activity. To ensure that all category plans include a robust and effective online trading focus.
Key Accountabilities:

To monitor category sales, margin and market share performance on the web and interpret variances against budget and forecast

To monitor click and collect and CIC sales and to assess overall trading effectiveness of the category on-line

To produce weekly / monthly sales forecast for web performance

To support the Category Buyers in product ranging decisions for the web

To make web pricing recommendations to the Category Buyer based on detailed competitor research

To assist the buyer with the ranging of web special products to ensure they are compelling online

Support the Buyers at Supplier meetings with Web information, market activity and on site customer journey expertise to develop supplier understanding in order to secure supplier support and funding.

To ensure detailed knowledge of all competitor web activity for the category and make recommendations as appropriate

To produce regular / ad-hoc reports as necessary

To attend relevant category / web meetings as required

To identify and research any new entrants / promotions to the online market for your category and discuss with Category Manager

To work with the Web Merchandising Team to ensure that all online promotional activity for the category is designed, implemented and evaluated robustly

To monitor stock levels on promoted products for click & collect and web sales and liaise with supply where necessary

To manage and develop the performance of extended range on the web
Skills/Attributes required for the role:

Must be of graduate calibre

Must have some work experience in a commercial environment

Must have a real interest in on-line shopping with the drive and hunger to learn more

Must have good organisational and time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines

Must demonstrate a drive and passion to succeed in a trading environment

Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team

Must have well developed Microsoft office skills

Must have excellent attention to detail

Must be able to confidently communicate across different levels in the organisation

Must achieve a minimum score of the 50th percentile in SHL verbal and numerical tests

Any knowledge or experience of working in an e-Commerce / on-line / pure play environment would be a distinct advantage
