Applications Technologist / Samples Analyst / Chemistry

Malvern, Worcestershire

£Competitive Salary

Our client manufactures and markets advanced analytical systems. Their systems are used in many industries for the characterisation of a wide variety of materials, delivering valuable data to their customers. Their broad portfolio of innovative technologies is combined with intelligent, user friendly software.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Applications Technologist to join their team. The main purpose of your role will be to analyse samples from potential customers, subsidiaries, distributors and agents using the company’s range of instruments and communicate the findings of such analyses.  You will also carry out any other routine laboratory duties as required. Part of your role will be to provide internal and external training support to staff and customers and to liaise with and provide test support to New Product Innovation departments.

You will maintain records, write reports and provide technical support for their sales teams and customers by carrying out demonstrations and customer visits. You will also deal with incoming calls and answer technical queries whilst logging any customer complaints, initiating the customer feed-back procedure when appropriate. Performing Health and Safety Assessments (COSHH) and giving input into the testing of new hardware and software will also form part of your role.

The successful candidate will preferably hold a degree qualification (or equivalent) in either analytical chemistry, chemistry, physical chemistry, or biochemistry. You will also have A-levels (or equivalent) in science, particularly chemistry, and GCSE’s (or equivalent) in Maths and English. Any previous laboratory experience will be highly beneficial as would experience of either rheological, particle or chromatography characterisation techniques. The ability to speak a second major European language would be a considerable advantage.  You will be computer literate and have a good working knowledge of MS Office.

After forwarding your CV for this position, you will receive an email from networx that requires action in order for us to submit your details.
