Project Description

Advocates Pharmaceutical & Healthcare are looking to build a cross-functional team at its principal (UK) base in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Responsibilities will be commensurately divided on a rotational basis to maximise the opportunity for teamwork and provide a fuller understanding how the Company contributes to the Pharmaceutical & Healthcare sector.

Role Description

Delivery of Projects over 1 year term:

The coordinator will deliver 2 projects per quarter over a 12 month period.

The coordinator will handle:

1.       Design a 60 second document management retrieval system: This system allows a document to be located in the system within 60 seconds of identifying the need for it

2.        Writing of individual Business Plans for ADV-Ltd (Scotland), ADV-LLC (USA), ADV-Ltd (Asia): As part of the Companys growth plan, we need to document our strategy in respect of the Advocates group of companies through business plans

3.        Importation/ Exportation of Pharmaceutical products: This includes creating a road map, the writing, implementation & training of company SOPs. This is designed to formalise, communicate & roll out to the necessary knowledge & training to the relevant individuals

4.        Project Management of 3rd IT Server (Activities to be outsourced): Identify external 3rd party suppliers. Design project plan for design, build, installation & shipping to Advocates overseas: To compliment the Companys current fire disaster recovery plan, the company will build an additional bespoke file server. The intention is to ship overseas to one the Advocates group of companies.

5.        Design a two tier template for Project Plans: Work with technical team to review & validate tasks for facets of drug development. 1st layer with circa. 60 -100 tasks. 2nd layer with circa. 250 tasks. Creating web based training videos/ recording of visual and oral training will maximise the Companys efficiency when training clients & employees overseas.

6.        Identification & qualification of additional 3rd party suppliers / conducting paper audit of all 3rd Party vendors to Advocates: 3rd party suppliers are project specific. In consideration of the Advocates pipeline, we need to validate additional 3rd party suppliers in advance of commencing programme activities

7.        Identification, qualification & Appointment of external Associates: This is to ensure there is sufficient technical expertise in place as a temporary measure until the Company is able to recruit additional internal resource

8.        Paper Audit of current 3rd Party Suppliers to Advocates: This is designed to validate the current database of 3rd Party vendors

Additional Tasks:

In addition to the above projects, you will be required to assist with day to day administrative tasks for which you will be trained, to ensure you have comprehensive business understanding. The Graduate will be trained on project related and day to day administrative activities in order to promote teamwork.

The Drug Development Coordinator will learn about drug development activities from early stage to commercialisation. In addition, they will learn about the necessary functions of the business and how each function contributes towards creating a sustainable business.

Skills / Experience

Essential

-          MS Suite: Competent user of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint & Outlook to intermediate levels; Related administrative experience in a multi disciplined organisation

-          English Language: Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

-          Written Expression & Comprehension: The ability to communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand

Ideal

-          Languages skills preferred but not required such as Cantonese, Mandarin, Japanese, European languages i.e. German, French, Spanish, Italian

Qualifications

-          Life sciences, chemistry or pharmaceutical sciences degree or Business Administration degree

Preferred Placement Date: As soon as possible

Duration: 12 months fixed term contract subject to eligibility to work in United Kingdom. At the end of the 1 year term the position will be reviewed against economic, business and personnel performance with respects to extension of fixed term contract or conversion to permanent basis subject to eligibility to work in United Kingdom.
