Internal Title: Assistant Managing Editor
Salary circa £18,000
Our client is a world-leading provider of academic journals, magazines, electronic products and publishing services within mechanical engineering.
They are looking for a highly organised and experienced Administrator to join their Journals Development Department as an Assistant Managing Editor. This role is key in providing an exceptional, first rate author service for a range of learned journals.
Communicative and approachable, you will be the main point of contact for authors and referees for your group of journals. Reporting to one of the Managing Editors, you will be responsible for coordinating and administering the refereeing process for papers using their online manuscript tracking system. As part of your role, you will correspond with authors, research potential referees and add new contacts onto their peer review system. As you will be working in a small team, you will also provide cover for the other Assistant Managing Editor in your team.
PLEASE NOTE: This role does not include writing copy.
Our client’s ideal candidate will have previously worked in an administrative role and will have used or worked on academic journals. With excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail, you will be an all-round team player with proven customer service experience and strong organisational and communication skills.
