Activity Instructor - Vacancies across the UK; Live-in role;  Throughout May

PGL Travel Ltd is the UK’s leading provider of residential activity holidays and educational study courses for young people. We’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic people to join our staff team as Activity Instructors for the 2012 season.

As an Activity Instructor you'll introduce guests to a number of activities and deliver taster sessions including orienteering, archery, fencing, climbing, quadbiking, abseiling, high ropes courses and initiative exercises. You'll also help to organise and participate in our dynamic programme of evening entertainment for our guests, escort them between sessions and take them to mealtimes. This isn’t a role for anyone who gets embarrassed easily – expect to learn plenty of silly songs and games, regularly walk like a penguin and speak like a pirate!

You'll need plenty of energy, diplomacy and the ability to relate to young people aged from 7-17 years, as well as the confidence to communicate with adult party leader, teachers and youth workers accompanying our guests.

This is a fantastic way of gaining a variety of transferable skills for your CV including customer service, group management, confidence, resourcefulness and leadership skills. You'll also get the chance to live and work in some amazing locations with people from around the world.

No experience in this area? No worries! Anyone who joins the PGL Staff team for the first time with limited or no previous experience can join us on the PGL Apprenticeship Scheme. This provides an industry-leading package of training, support and qualifications, enabling people to join PGL at a range of experience levels and will equip you with the skills and confidence to perform your role. There is no age or academic qualification restriction for our apprenticeship programme places.

You'll also receive a competitive wage, an optional free meals package, highly subsidised on-site accommodation (no deposit or bills to pay), a free uniform and extensive training and development opportunities. There’s also the potential to return for the 2013 season from February – November.

If you're looking for a rewarding role in a supportive environment where the emphasis is on fun and self development, we want to hear from you!

Please click to go through to our website where you can find out full details, create your own My PGL account, view our staff videos, chat with PGL staff members and fellow applicants on our forum and apply online.

You must be able to start work as an Activity Instructor/Group Leader on May 8 2012 and commit for a minimum of 13 weeks. Unfortunately we do not have jobs available just for the summer months (June, July and August). Our contracts run until at least September.

Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced CRB disclosure, which PGL will pay for.

You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for this position.

PGL is committed to the principle of equality and diversity. We welcome applicants from all sectors of the community.

Help to give our guests the time of their lives ... whilst you have yours!
