Account Development Executive

What’s your role?

Working closely with independent retailers, our Account Development Executives are results focused, ambitious and fun to work with. They are responsible for managing and developing each account by building positive relationships with key stakeholders (business owners and purchasing managers), promoting Pernod’s brands through brand activations and merchandising, as well as reviewing sales figures.

With a genuine interest in their business and through intelligent communication with key decision makers, ADEs work hard to find suitable solutions for them, providing education and practical help in store along the way.

Exceptional training and on-going support will help you build on your knowledge of the industry, progress your commercial expertise and develop your understanding of building good relationships. Regular support visits and monthly reviews with your team will help you to continuously improve your performance and your salary.

From team meetings at distilleries to our head office cocktail bar, we immerse our Commercial Trainees in the industry and provide fun, social learning environments for you to work in.

Key Purpose

The focus in this role will be driving the distribution and rate of sale of the Pernod Ricard portfolio within the independent retail sector.

What can you expect?

Here are just some of the things you will be required to do:

  • Develop and maintain professional customer relationships within a defined territory
  • Achieve coverage of designated stores in line with journey plan and coverage target, maximising retailer contact
  • Drive new distribution of Pernod Ricard brands within stores
  • Maximise opportunities for off-shelf display and feature in suitable stores to deliver maximum brand visibility and profile in stores and optimise benefits of above the line brand marketing activity
  • Educate retail staff on Pernod Ricard brands, category initiatives and marketing activity
  • Support/locally agree, set up and carry out consumer events to target as required
  • Work closely with Commercial Team, Customer Marketing, Finance and IT to provide feedback and recommendations on continuous improvement in the role
  • Assess and prioritise call file to maximise returns. Identify suitable new calls with opportunity for growth
  • Monitor and feedback competitor activity
  • Any other reasonable additional duties that may be required from time to time

What do we require?

You will have recently graduated with a 2:1 or above in a Marketing or Commercial Business related degree. You will have a strong academic track record and have a minimum of 300 UCAS points at A Level (or equivalent).

In addition to this, applicants must:

  • Have an understanding of the FMCG sector
  • Be happy to work independently when required
  • Have strong project management skills
  • Have strong communication skills
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy building relationships with people
  • Work well under pressure and able to work to deadlines
  • Have eligibility to unrestrictedly work and live in the UK

Work experience or an industrial placement in a commercial environment is desirable, as well as any drinks industry experience.

The position will begin in September 2017 for successful candidates, and will be home-based with you covering a London territory. Our West London offices where you may be required to go for meetings and reviews are in Chiswick. The salary is competitive, with 25 days holiday plus additional benefits; company car, healthcare, pension.
