Who are we?
PGL is the UK’s leading provider of residential activity holidays and educational courses for young people. We have won awards too numerous to mention over the years as well as being a founding member of the British Activity Holiday Association. We have grown from our founder Peter Gordon Lawrence’s humble first riverside canoe camping trips in the 1950s to form the mainstay of the Education Division of Cox and Kings Ltd, the oldest established travel company in the world with 250+ years of experience.
We have opportunities for job seekers at all stages of their career, from apprenticeships, NVQs and instructor National Governing Body Awards to jobs suitable for recent graduates to get some practical CV experience and senior managers.
Graduate jobs include French-Speaking roles: Administrators, Tour Leaders, Language Counsellors and Group Co-ordinators. All based in France from Jan/Feb – Nov or April – Sept. We also recruit Geology/Environmental Science graduates into our Field Studies Instructor positions.
All positions include comprehensive training. Anyone joining us for the first time with limited or no previous relevant experience can join us on the PGL Apprenticeship Scheme. This provides an industry-leading package of training, support and qualifications to help you to be confident in your new job role. We also offer NVQs and level 2 and 3; Instructor National Governing Body qualifications (e.g. RYA, UKCC, BCU). All training is offered free of charge on the provision that you complete your contract of employment with us.
What we look for
For French-speaking roles, we look for graduates of French. For our Study Course roles, we look for graduates of Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Ecology, Geography and Sciences. For our EFL roles, you will need to hold your TESOL or CELTA award. Above all, we look for energy, enthusiasm, a willingness to learn and evidence of an ability to relate to children and young people.
