Caring and growing its people:
Maris is delighted to announce that they have won a place in the Sunday Times ‘100 Best Small Companies to Work for 2009’. The survey is the largest employee engagement survey in the world, with more than 3,000 organisations participating. The survey identifies 8 key factors of workplace engagement including leadership, personal growth, well being and team work. The accreditation scheme is based on a star rating system where one is first class, two stars are outstanding and three stars are extraordinary. In total, only 414 organisations received star status, Maris has received two star rating. Maris is committed to excellence in the workplace.
Maris offers not surprisingly great career opportunities, for example the chairman started in the company as a business development executive, as did in fact two of the current partners.
Caring for the environment:
Maris Interiors is committed to the environment. We are continually concentrating on the following:
- Reducing the carbon footprint of our office space operations
- Reducing the carbon footprint of our Clients' projects
- Reducing the carbon footprint of our Trade Contractors' and Suppliers' activities
- Participating in third party initiatives that both reduce atmospheric carbon monoxide and alleviate poverty
Caring for the community:
Since 2005, Maris has been committed to Rainbow Trust Children's Charity. Rainbow provides practical and emotional support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness and support 1,000 families each year. As part of our corporate responsibility, Maris fundraises for the Trust on an annual basis. To date we have raised over £240,000 towards the cause and consistently strive to exceed our efforts every year. In December 2008, Maris Chairman, Michael Howard was appointed as a Patron of the charity, and this year he will be Chairman of Rainbow Trust's annual ball.
