Founded in 1905, Bridge of Weir Leather Company is a privately owned Scottish Company operating one ofEurope's largest leather production facilities. Here, people and technology come together in a unique blendof craftsmanship and advanced manufacturing techniques. The result is the finest quality upholstery leather,exported to over 60 countries worldwide.

Who are we?

Our primary commercial focus is on the automotive and contract design industries. For these, we develop adiverse range of leathers, spanning traditional and contemporary thinking. Our manufacturing process isunderpinned by accredited quality management systems, rigorous environmental standards, and anindustry-leading approach to customer service and strategic supply partnership.

Historically, Bridge of Weir's roots can be traced back to 1758, seven generations of family involvement in leathermanufacture. Throughout, they benefited from Scotland's advantages of an indigenous skills base, prime beef herdsand a plentiful supply of soft, pure water. Building upon this heritage and cumulative experience, Bridge of WeirLeather Company Ltd has been able to lead change rather than follow it.

Bridge of Weir Leather Company Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of Scottish Leather Group Limited.This privately owned group of leather manufacturing companies employs over 500 people at three sites in thewest of Scotland. The Group's activities span raw hide processing and tanning, as well as the manufacture offinished leather.Being part of the Group provides us with ready access to high quality hides and tanning experience,and a means of managing supply, quality and research throughout the leather manufacturing process.
