Degree: MSc Mechanical Engineering
I applied to Hayward Tyler as I knew I would gain excellent product and engineering knowledge. I have had the opportunity to develop my engineering skills from different sources including working in engineering design, the work shop, and hands on manufacturing experience. I have also been able to get an understanding of departments outside of engineering.
At the end of my first year I became a Junior Design Engineer and am now designing and developing an inline recirculation pump, as well as a developing my own steam turbine design.
My key responsibilities are giving technical support to sales, workshop and field service engineers; creating engineering drawings; engineering design; testing equipment.
Over the next 12 – 18 months I plan to be able to give technical support on all ranges of steam turbines; build up the first prototype of in-line circulating pumps to get installed on site; and develop my skills in production engineering.
Hayward Tyler is a great company to work for as there is always a friendly working environment, where everyone pulls together as a team. We get lots of opportunities and support to develop our engineering skills, and are assigned mentors that we can always go to for extra support.
