Peter Rayner - Inventory Analyst

Company Name: Essentra

Location: Oxfordshire

University: Glasgow

Degree: Applied Mathematics and Physics

I joined Essentra on the graduate scheme initially based in the Head Office in Milton Keynes.  I was part of the Group Accounts Team, in a real role with real responsibility. After 2 years I moved into an operational role within Moss Plastic Parts and I’m currently studying for the CIMA qualification.

What is your current role?
My current role is an Inventory Analyst based in Oxfordshire for the Moss Plastics Parts division. This involves:

  • Responsibility for Inventory and Fixed Asset financial reporting.
  • Writing Working Capital Analysis Reports.
  • Inventory Strategy for main UK warehouse in order to support product range expansion, increased lead times as product is sourced from Asia.
  • Generally support the increase in Continental European distribution sites.

Why did you apply to Filtrona?
I found the mix of business areas interesting and Filtrona offered a good training package.

What do you enjoy the most?
I like the fact that life at Essentra changes quickly providing many opportunities to learn and develop new skills. Essentra is excellent at recognising talent and developing employees in order that they maximise their potential.

What are your professional plans for the next 12-18 months within Filtrona?
In the next 12 months I will have completed my professional qualification (CIMA) so I would hope to take on a Financial Controller role at an Essentra site.
