Before the NHS management scheme:
- Graduated 2008
- Worked as a nurse at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary
- Seconded by NHS Lothian into a project management role to look at transport and nursing agency costs
After completing the scheme:
Belinda joined the National Services Division in 2007. The Division is responsible for delivering treatments which individual regions don’t fund, for example Cardiac Transplant at the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow and liver transplant services.
Belinda says she loves her career in NSS where she is able to directly contribute to the way services are modelled and delivered in Scotland.
She adds: "My work within NSD is so varied; I cover a number of national programmes including Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening for men. I’m responsible for overseeing the delivery of a screening programme which will save 120 lives per year in Scotland which is a terrific thing to be a part of and I’m so proud that being a management trainee led me here”.
