Overview
WHO ARE WE
We are the world's leading premium drinks company with the broadest and most recognised portfolio of brands. Brands enjoyed by millions across the globe each and every day. In fact, the name Diageo comes from the Latin word for 'day' and the Greek for 'world', reflecting the idea that our drinks play a unique part in the social lives and celebrations of countless diverse cultures.
We created the organisation in 1997 merging GrandMet and Guinness. That brought together the heritage and enviable reputations of two industry powerhouses. Since then, we've gone from strength to strength. Today we trade in over 180 world markets, employ 25,000 individuals and generate a staggering £13bn turnover.
The Diageo environment is relaxed and open, with everyone on first name terms. And there's good reason for that. We know - as well as you do - that people perform better when they're enjoying themselves. But it's fun in context. We have some seriously ambitious growth plans as well as clear recognition of our role in society.
Who are we?
"At Diageo we believe the key to delivering and sustaining outstanding performance lies in the quality of our people as well as our brands. We insist on integrity, premium quality and a great experience all-round - whether we're talking about our beverage alcohol brands or our people. When we find true talent, we work hard to develop and nurture it, and to release its full potential. In doing so, we're committing to the future of the company and its continuing success... and an important part of that is attracting graduates to Diageo."
Paul S Walsh, Group Chief Executive, September 2004

First up is an action packed induction to immerse yourself in the company and culture. After that there's two routes. In a Supply role, you gain broad experience by working on a series of key projects across different business functions on a rotational basis. In Sales & Marketing, you're out there from day one in a permanent position, developing your knowledge and skills as you go.
Whichever path you take, you'll get all the support you need to perform in your job. Your line manager is your day-to-day coach. And then there's further training and development projects outside your day job to broaden your horizons and extend your network across the organisation.
